For any of us on an intuitive eating journey, we all know that dieting isn’t what we want and isn’t what we desire to be doing.
So why do we go back?
Typically I find it’s because of 1 of 3 things – fear, rejection and identity issues.
We know dieting isn’t a long-term solution but we can find ourselves back in that place when we feel rejected, fearful or don’t know who we are.
No one restricts for fun, but if we have rejection or fear in our story we are prone to going back to the first thing that eased or soothed that rejection – which for many of us is dieting.
