We can all become bored with our own routines.

We end up eating the same thing every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

And maybe that works for you, and that’s okay.

However, for some, this can lead to deprivation driven eating because of redundancy and boredom.

This can cause us to feel that we’re going backwards in our recovery, when really all we need is another level of permission to get creative with your food.

Let’s chat about what might be blocking your creativity with food :

  1. Not having full permission to eat, to consume the sauce or the fats or the seasonings that make food more enjoyable
  2. Not having the energy – just generally not feeling well, maybe in a chronic illness flare, etc. Give yourself more permission to make changes or get support where you need it (frozen meals, takeout, etc.) This is an opportunity to make things easier for yourself and not withhold support.
  3. Being too activated – Being in a threat response can keep us from the decision making process in our brain. It can be hard to think about what is available and how to use it.

Let’s dive deeper into this topic and how we can use experiential learning to accelerate progress with food.
