Feelings of tired and being overwhelmed are natural, not only in life in general, but also food recovery.
It’s natural to even become frustrated by what we’re doing when we feel it’s not working.
So what are we to do?

When we experience being tired and overwhelmed, it’s time to take it back to the basics of food recovery.
The basics will always be the basics.
It’s important to not overcomplicate things when we’re struggling with feeling overwhelmed. Ask yourself, ‘What is the simplest next step I can take?’.
It doesn’t have to be perfect, or even ideal. It simply needs to be enough.
Fed and cared for will always be more important than perfection in intuitive eating.
Maybe you’re ‘Good Enough Next Step’ is to place a grocery order for pick up or delivery.
Another option could be to order prepared foods instead of needing to make everything from scratch.
One area that can be greatly affected when we’re feeling overwhelmed is our body image.
It’s easy to become stuck in a self-hatred, body-loathing vortex.
Maybe that was the only option when you were younger and didn’t have the resources or knowledge to make informed choices when you felt ‘too much’ or ‘not enough’.
Thankfully (because I know you’re here and reading this blog 🙂 ), you now have access to such knowledge and resources that you can know that hatred is never the way out.
Hatred is simply the way we’ve been trained and conditioned to respond.
This week’s videos talk more in-depth on this topic of being overwhelmed and continuing to navigate our food recovery with grace and compassion.
