From the beginning of our existence, as small babies, our goal is to feel good, get our needs met and find care.

That’s practically and emotionally driven.

So would it be fair to say that emotional eating in and of itself isn’t a bad thing?

Food can taste good and it be a pleasurable experience to eat.

We celebrate with our loved ones at birthdays and holidays.

None of that is bad.

But here comes the issue : when we begin to eat because of stress and we don’t have the skills to not over-couple negative emotions with our food.

It becomes a problem when we don’t have any other coping skills to choose from.

When our food becomes over-coupled with the negative emotions, we then become unable to differentiate between bad feels and you as a person actually being bad.
