Good morning, friends. I hope you’re doing well today. This is our first video and message of the new year, and I want to start by saying thank you—thank you for being here, for showing up regularly, and for staying curious about your healing.
If you’re new here, welcome. My team and I are trauma-informed, non-diet dietitians. Our mission is simple but deep: to help you feel safer in your own skin so that eating, digesting, moving, and living can begin to feel more natural again.
What This Space Is Really About
A lot of people come looking for a plan—something rigid, something to follow for 12 weeks so they don’t have to deal with themselves. That’s not the work we do.
Instead, we help you become a compassionate witness to what’s no longer working in your relationship with food, body image, and movement—and to gently uncover why. Because real freedom doesn’t come from control. It comes from safety.
Eating from hunger and fullness, digesting well, and trusting your body all require a sense of internal safety. That’s why everything we teach—videos, blogs, counseling—centers on nervous system regulation alongside nutrition.
This year marks my 20th year doing non-diet, trauma recovery work. Of course, we still do nutrition education. When people need structure, we use meal plans—not to control food, but to contain chaos and give full permission to eat. The goal is never dependence on plans or protocols. The goal is for you to become the expert on your own body.
Learning to Be a Detective, Not a Critic
We want you to develop curiosity instead of self-judgment.
When something doesn’t feel right, we help you ask:
- What’s the root of this?
- Is this nutritional, hormonal, emotional, or stress-related?
- Is my body under-resourced?
- Is something not being absorbed or integrated well?
- Is there unprocessed material showing up as symptoms?
Sometimes symptoms point to a clear nutritional deficiency.
Sometimes they reflect hormone changes.
Sometimes they’re signals of emotional or physiological dysregulation.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach—and you can’t fix everything at once. Healing usually happens one layer at a time. You work with one piece, see how the system responds, and then decide what’s next.
When Healing Feels Stuck
Many people experience a cycle where things improve… and then fall apart again. Often, that happens because different parts inside you want different things.
One part wants freedom and healing.
Another part wants to hold onto familiar behaviors because they once felt safe.
Until that tension is addressed, progress feels fragile. That’s not failure—it’s information.
Nothing that happens inside you is random or shameful. Everything has a function. Our job is to understand it, not override it.
Reflecting as a New Year Begins
Whether or not you set resolutions, this time of year naturally invites reflection.
You might ask yourself:
- What did I learn about myself this past year?
- Where did I grow?
- Where do I still feel stuck?
- What support do I need that I haven’t asked for yet?
Sometimes you can see something clearly for months or even years before it shifts. That doesn’t mean it never will. Often it means there’s a blind spot—and blind spots require support.
What’s Coming Next
As we move into this year, I’m excited to share that we’re building new ways to support you more consistently.
One offering will provide near-real-time support through a private, secure platform—not social media—so you can receive guidance the same day you need it. That might look like:
- meal support
- help following through with plans you’ve already made
- quick co-regulation tools
- support before or after difficult appointments
Some people don’t need more insight—they need help with follow-through and executive functioning. This option is designed for that.
We’re also creating a new community space for people who are solid in recovery—where food is no longer the main struggle—but who don’t feel well in their bodies yet. This space will focus on health behaviors, nutrition, movement, sleep, supplements, and labs without triggering diet culture or body control.
This is for people who aren’t trying to change their bodies—just trying to feel better in them.
If You’re Feeling Stuck Right Now
Feeling stuck usually means two things inside you are in conflict. One part wants healing. Another part is afraid of what healing might require.
The world will tell you to try harder, do another program, or push through.
We offer a different option: be a compassionate witness to what’s actually happening inside.
That’s where freedom begins.
If you need support, reach out. You don’t have to carry another year of symptoms, confusion, or self-blame. Healing is possible—and you don’t have to do it alone.

Thank you for being here. I’ll see you in the next post.
